Background

Every year May 21 is observed as World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. In November 2001 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed May 21 as World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. This day is also known as Diversity Day. This day is observed to help communities understand the value of cultural diversity and learn how to live together in harmony.


Actions and Programs

Many organizations and governments are organizing different functions and events to increase the understanding of issues around cultural diversity and development. Some of the programs include seminars, educational programs, exhibitions, awareness programs and campaigns, etc.
