World malaria Day


Background

Every year April 25 is observed as World Malaria Day (WMD). This day is observed to provide “educational and understanding of malaria” and spread information on “year-long intensified implementation and treatment in endemic areas.”

In May 2007 World Health Assembly in its 60th session decided to observe World Malaria Day on April 25 every year.

Many companies related to health, government departments, NGOs, other organizations work in the field of health, educational institutions, etc. are participating in the programs. Different programs includes seminars, street plays, medical camps, health awareness programs, etc. conducting on this day.
