Background

UN General Assembly on December 22, 2005 proclaimed December 20 as the International Human Solidarity Day.

The International Human Solidarity Day is observed with an aim to raise awareness and show importance of solidarity in working towards eradicating poverty. It also gives an opportunity to celebrate unity in diversity. It is also a day to remind governments to respect their commitments to international agreements, aims to remind people on the importance of solidarity.


Actions and Programs

Many events and programs are observed on International Human Solidarity Day to promote solidarity and find innovative methods to help eradicate poverty.
